SAR: Kouchner offended a reporter due to question on organs trade Print

02 March 2010.

Serbian Association of Reporters has condemned the offensive remarks that Head of the French Diplomacy Bernard Kouchner had directed at reporter Budimir Nicic from the Voice of America, who asked about the trade in body organs in Kosmet and the “yellow house” case. The association has protested over Kouchner’s non-diplomatic response and stated that the International reporters Federation has been notified. Namely, the French minister told the reporter of the VOA to seek medical help, after being asked to comment on the fact that the families of the kidnapped Serbs has accused him of being involved in the trade of human body organs. Also, asked whether he knew about the existence of the so-called “yellow house” in northern Albania, where the Serbs were killed and their organs extracted, according to the claims of former Hague Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte, Kouchner said the following: “Sir, you should go to a doctor for examination”. Bernard Kouchner was the first Head of UNMIK in Kosmet, from July 1999 to January 2001.
