March 18, 2010

Image Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Director General of the British Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA) William Hughes, signed in London a memorandum of understanding in the fight against transnational crime. The document also refers to the development of police cooperation in combating illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, money laundering, illicit trafficking in firearms, high-technology crime and fraud. Hughes expressed his satisfaction with cooperation with the Serbian Interior Ministry and stressed that the Agency and the Serbian Service for Combating Organized Crime conducted a series of successful operations. According to him, these operations have resulted in detection and arrest of several organized groups that were engaged in illegal drug trafficking, high-tech crime and money laundering. He added that based on the information the Serbian police shared with the British and other world agencies a large quantity of drugs was seized throughout the world.
