June 29, 2010 The Danube can be a key factor for Serbia’s development and for overcoming of the crisis in Europe, Serbian Deputy PM for European Integrations Bozidar Djelic said, presenting the EU Danubian Strategy on the occasion of the Danube’s Day. The strategy is to be completed in mid-2011 and is founded on three pillars – economy, social and economic development and infrastructure. On July 2, the EU will present a draft Strategy and on 22 July Brussels will host an assembly of all the countries involved in the strategy. On 27 September, Belgrade will host a conference on the financing of the Danubian Strategy, said Djelic, assessing this as a great success for Serbia, since Serbia is not an EU member-state.
