Serbia should be admitted to the EU, but it should also cooperate with Russia and should not forget it is a Slavic and Orthodox country, Russian Ambassador in Belgrade Alexandar Konuzin said. In a lecture entitled RUSSIA AND MODERN WORLD, at the Megatrend University in Belgrade, he said Russia had nothing against Serbia’s EU integrations, but added it was very important that Serbia, after being admitted to the EU, should not forget that, as a Slavic and Orthodox country, it will be in a minority and that the only country to support it will be Russia. Some East European countries have forgotten good relations with Moscow too soon, he emphasized, adding the EU was an important trade partner of Russia.
