Request for investigation against six war crime suspects Print

November 6, 2009

Image The Prosecution for War Crimes Serbia submitted a request to an investigative judge for the War Crimes Trial Chamber of the Belgrade District Court for investigation against six persons, because of reasonable doubt that they committed war crimes against civilians in several villages in the territory of the Zvornik municipality in July 1992, , the Prosecution communicated. Five suspects were arrested last night in an effective action of the Serbian Interior Ministry, while the sixth suspect is already in prison already serving a sentence for war crimes in Sjeverin. They are charged for murder of at least 23 Roma civilians on 11 July 92. The communiqué reads that the Prosecution suggests that suspects, who returned to Serbia in 1993, be detained.
