Russian president’s condolences to President Tadic and Metropolitan Amfilohije Print

Image Russian President Dmitri Medvedev has sent Serbian President Boris Tadic condolences over the death of Serbian Patriarch Pavle, stating the Patriarch served his church and country in a self-sacrificing manner and attended to the needs and interests of his people. His office at the Pec throne coincided with the hardest ordeals of his nation, Medvedev emphasized. He also sent condolences to the keeper of the patriarchal throne, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije. The ordeals of the Serb people emphasized the high moral qualities and the true role of Patriarch Pavle, who invested all his efforts to strengthen their spirit. His Christian serenity and the firmness of his beliefs will be remembered forever in the Orthodox world, said Medvedev.
