Condolences of Vatican for death of Patriarch Pavle Print

17 November 2009.

Image Chairman of the Holy See council of Christian Unity, Cardinal Walther Casper has expressed condolences on the occasion of death of Serbian Patriarch Pavle, with expectations that the dialog between the two churches could be continued in the future, reports the ANSA agency. In a message sent to the Metropolitan Amfilohije, Casper reminds of a warm and fraternal hospitality he got from Patriarch  Pavle on several occasions, and stressed that his Holiness was performing his duty in the difficult times, marked by wars and conflicts in the Balkan countries. In spite of many difficulties, Patriarch Pavle was a man of faith and dialog, and under his leadership of good will, the dialog with Catholics made progress as well, concludes the message of Cardinal Casper.
