Bildt and Solana: EULEX facing challenges |

November 17, 2009  Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said in Brussels that EULEX in Kosovo was facing the big challenges of the establishment of the rule of law. Certain progress has been made in that field, but much is to be done yet, he said after a debate at a sitting of EU foreign ministers. He concluded the EU was always sending missions to the sites of big challenges. EU High Representative Javier Solana assessed, however, those challenges are usual and not special ones. His spokesperson Christina Gallach said EULEX in Kosovo had realized progress in activities anyway, but that the major challenge for local authoriteis in Pristina was to mend the utterly difficult economic and social situation.
