Stevic and Ivanovic worried about local elections in Kosmet Print
18 November 2009.

State Secretary in the Ministry of Kosmet Zvonimir Stevic has reiterated the stance of the state leadership that the local elections, organized by the Kosmet authorities, are unacceptable for Serbia. Stevic told our radio that those elections are opening a new process. We will have a dualism – official Serbian bodies and local self-government that is unacceptable for us, pointed Stevic. According to him, it will probably make problems in the functioning of both institutions, and the people will feel it in the daily life. A similar stance has been presented by State secretary Oliver Ivanovic. It is imminent that the gap that exists between the Kosmet Serbs south of the Ibar River and those in northern parts will grow deeper, as well as the one between the Kosmet Serbs in general and the authorities in Belgrade, stressed Ivanovic, while pointing that Belgrade must take adequate steps to resolve the situation.
