Metropolitan Filaret: The Orthodox world sympathizes with the Serbs Print

On behalf of the patriarch of Moscow and all Russia, Kirill, an envoy of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Minsk and Sluzk Filaret, said at the funeral of Serbian Patriarch Pavle that the whole Orthodox world sympathizes with the Serbian Orthodox Church in its grief over the death of the patriarch, who was a courageous defender of the holy faith and heritage of the Serbian people. Half a century ago, Patriarch Pavle was appointed bishop of the Serbs in the holy Serb land - Kosovo-Metohija. He was appointed patriarch on the eve of the most difficult times and with his ascetic life he reflected the supreme qualities of Serbian Orthodox monkhood and did his best to offer solace to people in need.
