Da i: Police ready to contribute to children’s rights Print

Image Interior Minister Ivica Dačić pointed to the significance of the respect of children’s rights in all fields and added the police is ready to contribute to that goal. Under way is the final phase of a process for obtainting a permanent certificate for treating minors for 415 police officers. The police especially takes care in the protection of children’s rights in contacts with media, he said at a gathering on this topic organized by UNICEF on Children’s Day and two decades after the adoption of the UN convention on children’s rights. He reminded that a special working group has been formed within the Ministry for the coordination of activities on the implementation of the Convention of Children’s Rights and that a memorandum on cooperation between the police and schools has been signed. The Serbian government has enacted many laws and legal acts and strategies for the realization of children’s rights and has formed several counselling authorities.
